URBINO - DUCAL PALACE, National Museum of the Marche
Unpublished multisensory art installation
Images and sounds interact with the architecture and visitors
Event within the event this artistic installation conceived and designed by the visual artist Paolo Buroni, one of the most innovative contemporary experimenters. Buroni in his highly personal multimedia installations, blends images with architecture and music, giving rise to a single language.
.. “A historic building, but it could be a theater, a factory or a square, what fascinates me is interacting with the space and the environment, transforming it with images and sound”.
With these interventions, the goal of the author Paolo Buroni is to arouse in the visitors of the Palazzo Ducale in Urbino the feeling of a multisensory immersion in images, through the creation of an artistic and scenographic space. An emotional environment in which architectural projections and virtual reconstructions interact with music in quadraphony and envelop the visitor, creating a unique and surreal atmosphere. A small parallel universe, a place of wonder and amazement, to be explored to experience 360 ° emotions.
Project Idea:
EMOTIONAL ATMOSPHERE
The concept behind the art installations in the Ducal Palace of Urbino is to make a show and create an emotional atmosphere within some significant rooms of the prestigious Palazzo. It should be noted that these environments would otherwise be bare as the works originally contained in them are no longer available.
It is also important to underline that these interventions, while based on original materials and sources and conveying reliable historical and artistic content, above all have a playful and communicative intent.
The emotional atmosphere is what the distracted visitor perceives during a superficial visit to the museum. An atmosphere created with images and music that emphasize and enhance paintings and architecture, miniatures and sculptures with a choreography that amplifies the pleasure of the visit.
..The two reception halls and the kitchen on the lower floor, which lend themselves excellently to multi-vision image projections, will be spectacularized with “Immersive” architectural multi-projections projected directly onto the walls.
These maxi-projections directly on the walls of the halls will give rise to real “Frescoes of Images” which, like great scenographies and together with the background music, will completely envelop the viewer in a constantly changing virtual theme setting.
..From an artistic point of view, Multivision is based on contents that enhance the themes of culture and the era linked to the Ducal Palace of Urbino: Federico da Montefeltro, Raffaello, Francesco di Giorgio Martini, Piero della Francesca and therefore paintings, architectures , documents etc. represented in their most significant aspects. This result is also made possible by the use of new special Stark technologies for high brightness projections that are used all over the world in the most important architectural projections.
The third intervention concerns the virtual reconstruction of Federico’s Library, in the same original room that housed it in ancient times.
In this room the visitor is faced with a reconstruction where the virtual and the real merge. The libraries are simulated in size with a multimedia projection of 16 meters where virtual books can be virtually browsed with the visitor’s gesture in the air, offering their real content in maximum spectacle and interactivity. Soft lights and appropriate sounds accentuate the atmosphere of the LIBRARY as a place of knowledge and culture. At the same time, the “Totems” restore the original perception of space and the majestic dimensions of the original bookcases.
The direction of Paolo Buroni is made on these themes drawing on the most beautiful images available (both provided by the client and taken from the archive and elaborated by the author himself) with a refined graphic layout. The final result is a great choreography of images in Multivision that links past and present.
