BORMIO - OPEN CEREMONY WORLDSKI CHAMPIONSHIP

In addition to the performances of the delegations for the opening evening, the Mountain was invaded by huge three-dimensional images with a “Spatial” Multivision by Paolo Buroni thanks to an innovative technology.

For the opening night, a large Multivision by Paolo Buroni was projected with a new technology, which extended over the entire finish area to the snow of the World Cup theater track.
The mountain, the track and the snow itself served as a screen and were incorporated into an intertwining and overlapping of images in fading with synchronized music.
The event took place in the magnificent setting of Bormio 2005 where an innovative and sophisticated “Stark” multi-projection apparatus was installed which, using 25 special projectors, made it possible to cover the vast white surfaces with enormous animated images, shaping the mountain with a great scenography virtual.
The multi-projection directed by Paolo Buroni and an Idea-Project by Tiziana Bezzi began with the elaboration of Alpine-themed images and a multiplication of winter landscapes and was the setting for the performances of the delegations of the participating countries.

Like a great slow motion movie, Multi-Projection scrolled through hundreds of animated images with cross-fade effects, multiple overlays and scrolling accompanied by a synchronized soundtrack.

The complex installation, which also required the use of a helicopter for transporting and setting up the system, will be handled and built by the Italian company Stark of Pesaro specialized in this type of events as well as the manufacturer of the special equipment.
