COMO - WHITE NIGHTS

This year, to celebrate its annual festivities, Como has decided to focus on spectacularity and on image, with a great architectural multivision projected on the historical buildings of downtown Como.
The idea of this multiprojection is to bring the charm of the art, architecture and landscape into the piazza, “dramatizing” the beauty surrounding us.
This artistic installation promises to be a great event, conceived and planned for Como by Multivision designer Paolo Buroni , among the most renowned and innovative contemporary visual experimenters. In his great multimedia installations, he blends images with music and architecture creating a unique language which is highly communicative and spectacular.

Piazza del Duomo
Imagine the magnificent Palaces, the Broletto, the Duomo, and even the ground, completely covered in frescoes of elaborate antique paintings and multi-colour graphical elaborations.
The spectators will find themselves immersed in a magnificent world of images and music that slowly changes, an imaginary and surreal world, but with journeys into ancient and modern art.
The Piazza del Duomo is a meeting place that serves the purpose of creating this magic in an absolutely excellent manner thanks to its architecture and perfect architectural regularity, surrounded by palaces on all four sides.

“During my artistic career as in this event, what I intend to do is create in the spectators the sensation of a multisensorial immersion into the images. The images will be elaborated and dramatized through the creation of an artistic and emotional space in which a series of successive images interact with the music, surrounding the spectator and aiming to creating a unique and spectacular atmosphere.
My intent is to convey the emotion of the content rather than to narrate the content through captioned references. To create, for one day only, a small parallel universe, a place of wonder and astonishment to be explored to experience ultimate emotions.”

This Architectural Multiprojection event in the Duomo di Como Piazza with over 2,000 square meters of images represents a technological and technical challenge.

To reach the projection power required, Stark (world leading company in this field) projection technologies are necessary.
The entire projection system is managed by a special computerized direction that synchronizes all of the images (in thousands of combinations) with one another and with the soundtrack.
